La Grande Terche is a small ski resort in the village
of St Jean d'Aulps. Whilst it is part of the Portes du Soleil lift
pass it is not linked in skiing terms to the other resorts.
For this reason it is one of the best kept secrets of the area. Novices
will appreciate quietness of the pistes and will find the skiing
adequate for a full week. Experienced skiers will enjoy a day
trip, especially the "Roc d'Enfer" run, graded red, it is the longest
run in the Portes du Soleil.
Powder hounds often come here as fresh snow can still be found
long after the main areas are skied out. |
